B2Sea is proud to have successfully organised the 25th Anniversary Celebration of YANMAR Engineering’s Greek Office, a landmark event honouring a quarter century of trust, innovation, and partnership between Greece and Japan. The celebration took place on Monday, 10 November 2025, at InterContinental Hotel in Athens, gathering distinguished representatives of the shipping industry, executives from YANMAR Engineering and YANMAR Power Solutions, and members of the Japanese diplomatic mission.
From detailed event planning to on-site coordination, audiovisual support, guest hospitality, and media facilitation, B2Sea ensured a seamless experience worthy of this milestone anniversary.
Celebrating 25 Years Built on Trust, Innovation & Mutual Respect
The event highlighted the strong maritime relationship between Greece and Japan: an enduring partnership symbolised by YANMAR Engineering’s presence in Greece for the past 25 years.
Central to the evening were the values that define YANMAR Engineering’s Greek Office: Trust, Innovation, and Mutual Respect: principles that have guided its operations and strengthened its ties with the Greek shipping community.
Founded in 2000 by Mr Yasufumi Ueyama, the Greek Office has since become a hub of engineering excellence and after-sales support. Today, Mr Ueyama leads YANMAR Engineering Co., Ltd. globally, and his presence at the event underlined the legacy and ongoing commitment of the organisation.

Distinguished Speakers & Memorable Moments
The evening began with a welcome address by Mr Yorgos Diakoyannis, General Manager of YANMAR Engineering Greece, who expressed gratitude to customers, partners, and colleagues for their long-standing collaboration.
The keynote speech was delivered by Mr Masaru Hirose, President and Representative Director of YANMAR Power Solutions Co., Ltd., who presented YANMAR’s strategic direction toward advanced engine technologies, alternative fuels, and a carbon-neutral future.
A symbolic highlight of the night was the traditional sake toast, led by Mr Takaaki Nemoto, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Japan. Speaking in fluent Greek, Mr Nemoto celebrated the shared respect between the two countries and acknowledged YANMAR’s contribution to sustainability, innovation, and maritime excellence.

The event was moderated by Mr Alexandros Iliopoulos, Technical Manager of YANMAR Engineering Greece.
A Celebration of People, Culture & Legacy
The formal agenda concluded with a cocktail reception featuring Japanese and Greek culinary touches, followed by an elegant musical performance by Mr Dimitris Vassilakis and his jazz band, offering guests a warm setting for networking and celebration.
Distinguished attendees included shipowners, technical managers, partners, and YANMAR representatives from Greece, Japan, and Europe—all gathered to honour a 25-year relationship built on engineering excellence and mutual trust.
